Your digital camera may be saving your pictures with filenames like these:
  • PICT0001.JPG
  • PICT0002.JPG
  • PICT0003.JPG
  • PICT0004.JPG
  • PICT0005.JPG
  • Etc...

To give them unique filenames.  In the "Settings" tab, select how you want them named...
  • Date Picture Taken [EXIF Tag]
  • Date Originally Created [EXIF Tag]
  • Date Created (File)
  • Date Modified (File)

You can even add a Prefix and a Suffix to the pictures to customize the naming even more.

In the Pictures tab.

  • Select a directory using the Browse button.
  • Select the ones in the directory list you wish to rename.
  • Then click the "Rename" button...

You have UNIQUE file names for each JPG. 
  • Now you can even put them in the same directory with your thousands of other pictures without fear of file name conflicts.
